International Box Office

The cartoons continue to play well to far-flung parts of the globe.

Weekend Foreign Box Office -- (Total World Accumulation)

Planes -- $7,900,000 -- ($102,043,000)

Monsters University -- $11,000,000 -- ($714,328,000)

Despicable Me 2 -- $6,100,000 -- ($822,135,190)

Smurfs 2 -- $8,500,000 -- ($254,704,236)

Turbo -- $ ____ -- ($153,697,000)

Slightly less than half of Turbo's worldwide gross comes from overseas. Domestically, the picture will stall out south of $100 million. (It's at $80 million now, treading water in 19th place, still playing in 438 theaters.)

My guesstimate is the feature will make roughly double abroad what it takes in domestically. (Turbo still has a lot of foreign markets waiting for a release.)

Rise of the Guardians, after all the tickets were counted, had a worldwide accumulation of $300 million. Turbo will be doing well if it hits that number.
