Studies of a polo player, by Virgil "Vip" Partch

Below, studies of a polo player by esteemed cartoon artist Virgil "Vip" Partch, probably dating from the late 1930s. Were these perhaps studies of his then-boss?

These studies, owned by my dad and now by his family, were most likely done when Vip was in traffic at Disney, or possibly while he was an in-betweener. Unlike many of his figure drawings from the period, these are undated.
