Irv the Cowpoke

The last in our Irv Spence series. This one shows Irv as the cowboy, and Stod Herbert as the gangster. What the caricature is referencing might be known to somebody, but not to us. This is the only one of the four that is dated, but we deduce that all might be from '39 as well. (Thanks again to James Walker for allowing us to share it..and the others.)

The gag in this drawing refers to the live action film "Rats and Spats" that Irv Spence did using friends from the MGM cartoon dept. He also did another film called "Rugged Rangers". All surviving film and negatives are with the Culver City Historical Society. JTW
